History: Wild Ren Wines is a rising star of the Hunter Valley wine scene, with the young winery quickly building a reputation for producing quality wines with some serious flair. Ambiance and Setting
Tasting Room: Wild Ren's tasting room sits in a shared space with Charteris Wines which in-turn is part of Peppers Creek Village. Peppers Creek Village is an stunning little pocket within wine country and offers so much for a single stop. Enjoy breakfast or lunch at Cafe Enzo, enjoy some stunning wines at Comyns & Co, Charteris Wines and of course Wild Ren Wines.

Atmosphere and Decor: Wild Rens Tasting Room is stunning. Understated ambient lighting draws the eye toward a wall of beautifully designed wine bottles. Modern meets rustic tables are perfectly arranged to bring people together and encourage connection and then the bar! It's modern lux country and the perfect place to pull up a stool and enjoy a tasting. I realise I'm gushing but this place is such a treat. Just check it out and see for yourself!
Staff Hospitality: Our host was Renee herself with a few cameos from her wine maker who popped in to help out. Tasting with Ren was such a delight. Her passion was impossible to miss and the as you would expect she knew everything about every wine and was more than happy to answer all our questions! Her wine maker even got in on the action grabbing some paper and a pen to explain the optimal point to harvest! It was hands down an absolute treat.
Tasting Experience
We opted for the 'Feather your nest' premium wine tasting. For just $15 we were able to taste all 12 wines and I'm so glad we did.

The wines we tasted were as follows;
Sparkling
2023 Roza Frizzanti
White
2023 Vermentino
2023 Pinot Gris
2023 Untamed Semillon (fermented on skins)
2022 Chardonnay
2023 off dry Semillon
Rose
2023 Rose
Red
2023 Sangiovese
2022 Pinot Noir
2023 Tempranillo
2022 Shiraz
2023 Hunter Shiraz
Standout Wine
For us its the 2022 Chardonnay. Creamy layers of stone fruit (peach) and cashews with beautifully balanced oak undertones. It has a elegant finish that surprises with depth, complexity and texture. It's a wine to be enjoyed and savoured which is exactly what we'll be doing.
To Close
Wild Ren Wines is something special. From it's location to the cellar door vibe, to the Ren our (and possibly your) host and of course the wine itself. I'm so glad we visited and know we will be back.
